The Old Story

For years I have been honest about how much I dislike the end of the year Holidays, or the "Season of Disappointment" as I often called it. There are several personal reasons, but it has been my story for years.

My dear friend Mary Schmich wrote, “…Christmas is never just one Christmas. It is the sum of all the Christmas’s you have known…” As the architects of our narrative, we wield the power to redefine our past, shaping it into a narrative that aligns with our future. Through the meticulous craft of rewriting, we extract lessons from the chapters we've lived, infusing them with new wisdom and resilience.

This year (with help) I made a conscious effort to win back this time of year. And while I didn't ace it completely, I did however begin to re-write my old story. With intentional choices and a commitment to personal growth, rewriting your beliefs becomes a transformative process, unlocking new chapters of self-discovery and resilience.

What is your story for 2024? Are there places where you can pause, reflect, and rewrite?

Cheers to 2024. May the practices that you hold dear allow you to reshape and edit the story.
