My Story

I love many things about yoga: it provides valuable feedback about one's energy, it promotes a balance of effort and ease, it gives us information on our level of patience, kindness, and humility.  Regardless of how long the practice is it allows us to focus internally.

Going on 25 years now I have been practicing yoga.  20 of those years I've been teaching.  My journey began at The Chicago Yoga Center, where I earned my 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification. Following that, I completed certification with Judith Lasater, specializing in Restorative Yoga at Om Yoga in NYC, and then completed the 500-hour Yoga Alliance certification with Sharyn Galindo at North Shore Yoga.  I also completed Transcendental Meditation training and am a dedicated practitioner. Besides the numerous teacher training certifications, I attend dozens of workshops, festivals, and immersions and have practiced alongside multiple master yoga teachers/celebrities.

As a child, my mom taught me the value of the journey, the importance of travel.  So, I take my practice on the road and co-lead an annual yoga retreat in Mexico or Italy. Here, people can practice yoga and meditation, indulge in eating extraordinary food, and surround themselves with beauty, nature, and great company.

Yoga practice is uniquely personal; the benefits are endless – from more open hips and hamstrings, greater lung capacity, healing from injury, a catalyst for a healthier lifestyle, or that mysterious yoga glow.  As a student, whether in a class or private instruction, we will begin with exactly where you are. My goal is to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable, to give clear instructions and cues that allow each person to explore postures safely, and to be able to breathe, smile, and feel more open.
