Thank you for being a friend.

About a month ago I stopped at a little boutique in Andersonville on my way downtown. I was trying to go the thrift store next door, but it was closed. I have not stopped into a little shop to just peak around in so long and was kind of delighted by how beautiful everything in this little store was curated. I ended up buying a new gray sweater that was too cute to leave there and not expensive. I had to give my email to get a receipt because everything works like that now. The subsequent email I received from the owner surprised me.

Without being too long, it was a personal note from the owner thanking me. She told a little tale of why she started the store and that she hoped her store would survive the pandemic by her personal touches. Everything from her inventory choices, the music playing in the store, her instagram posts and the tone of her emails were all genuine choices from her heart to help build and sustain her community. She was quite vulnerable in her little thank you email, and I found myself instantly following her on instagram, @winifredgrace. I felt like a made a friend.

One of the things I am so grateful for throughout this past year are the friends and the communities I have. As exhausted as I am signing onto to Zoom yet again, I am always refreshed by the faces that await to practice yoga. It is inspiring and the classes below have become even more of an anchor in my life.

And to my besties out there, you know who you are. Every funny text, Marco Polo, email, or actual phone call is a breath of fresh air. You are all my lifeline. Join me and my and one of my besties, Jessica Sandstrom, team teach tomorrow at 4p CST. We also host a retreat, Mexico May 24-29th, and would love to have you come. *Safety First: We are making the final call on if we can go at the end of March.

As corny as it is, allow your heart to expand tomorrow. To your partners, to your family, and to your FRIENDS. Where would we be this year without them?

xoxo
